What is Ashwagandha and how do I take it?
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is nature’s gut-friendly, chemical-free answer to stress and anxiety. Read the science here. Our ashwagandha wellness supplement is a premium tincture that extracts organic herb into medical-grade alcohol to provide the fastest, most efficient results; it’s absorbed into the system more quickly than powders or tablets.
Recommended dosage: 1 ml (15 – 20 drops) in 200 ml of water, 3 times daily.
Contraindications
This product contains pharmaceutical-grade alcohol so is not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women or anyone who wishes to avoid alcohol.
If you are taking diabetes medications, blood pressure medications, medications that suppress the immune system, sedatives, SSRIs or medications for thyroid problems, please consult with your doctor before taking ashwagandha.

What is a herbal tincture?
Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts made by soaking some part of a plant in alcohol, which works to pull out or “extract” the active ingredients in the plant parts, concentrating them as a liquid. This liquid can then be consumed by adding 15-20 drops into a small amount of water.
Tinctures have been around for millennia and are a key component of traditional herbal medicine. Tinctures make it easy to consume the natural health-boosting chemicals found in some plants. An estimated 80 percent of the world population relies on tinctures for at least some of their healthcare needs.3

We use a medical grade alcohol which is grain-derived, pure 95.5% ethanol with a distilled water 4.5% additional, adhering to the British and European pharmacopoeia monograph specification. It is approved for use in medicine production and perfectly safe for human consumption.
What is an adaptogen?
Ashwagandha is considered an adaptogen, which is a herb that improves an individual’s ability to cope with stress. Ideally, an adaptogen should: a) decrease stress-induced damage, b) be safe and produce a beneficial effect even if the number of administrations is more than required, c) be devoid of any negative effects such as withdrawal syndromes and d) not influence the normal body functions more than necessary. Ashwagandha is one adaptogen that possesses all of the characteristics listed above.4
